Monica is originally from Maine, but moved to Vermont for tattooing. It was middle school when she started dreaming of being a Tattooer, but knowing early didn’t make it any easier to get here.

She first went through years of misdirection and failure. After changing her major from mental health to art, she would ultimately end up dropping out of school and letting everything else go for tattooing. In 2023, she moved from Texas to Saint Albans, Vermont to apprentice at True Tattoo.

Now, Monica strives to learn as much as possible about her trade and, therefore, is open to tattooing almost any style. She especially enjoys tattooing heavy blackwork combined with soft detail, and also bold color with a traditional influence. She prefers to draw designs directly on the body as much as possible to achieve an ideal and unique fit for each client.

When she’s not tattooing, she spends her time reading books or adventuring with her husband. In the summer she’ll be kayaking, fishing, and camping in her van. In the wintertime she spends her free time learning to snowboard.

Monica believes that tattooing is a vulnerable and often intimate process, so connecting and building trusting relationships with her clients is a top priority.


